Barnhenge, Part Deux

The evolution of Barnhenge, without either cavorting Druids or naked dancing, until recently continued apace, and as we move into Spring it looks now a bit less like a henge and more like a barn — or at least like a building. Huzzah!!

I love the fact that we’re actually managing to do this with all natural and mostly home-grown materials. I didn’t, admittedly, grow the telephone poles, retired from various roadsides after long and stellar careers supporting power and fibre-optic cables, myself. No, those were gifts of a sort. I also didn’t mine the ores, smelt the iron and steel, and cast the nails myself. Not a chance of that. Still, most of the lumber is native, and therefore cheap. I can DO cheap!!

I would love to be able to hire a contractor — hopefully an honest one as much UNLIKE the one who started building my house as humanly possible this time around — to show up and build everything that needs building, as well as fixing everything that needs fixing. That would be cool, as would winning the lottery, but barring a sudden financial windfall jobs around here are just going to take as long as they take.

Unfortunately, right now we’re having to repair the ravages of rental tenants, so the Barnhenge project is presently on hiatus, but when we get started again I will post more details!!! Wish me luck, since it’s obviously under siege by Pirates. ;-)!!
