A Question for those among the living who actually notice TV Commercials — at least the very good or horribly bad ones: Which is more annoying — the current Barnes & Noble Commercial, or the current Little Caesar’s Commercial?
Are there other viewers out there, besides me, who reach frantically for the remote control to mute those commercials every time they appear? Just asking!
Not that there aren’t other horrendous TV commercials out there, because there most surely are! For example, there are several of the Progressive Insurance Commercials (which are made worse if you ever tried Progressive), the E-Harmony commercials (which are made worse if you ever tried E-Harmony), the Nutri-System commercials (which are made worse if you ever tried Nutri-System) and virtually all Infomercials (which have the added handicap of being very nearly interminable).
But the Barnes & Noble commercial is just hopelessly insipid, and the Little Caesar’s commercial is WAY past irritating. That one hit “irritating” on the way downhill from “pointless” and “nonsensical”, and then left it totally in the dust.
So here’s a shout-out to whatever brain trust is responsible for producing commercials so mind-numbingly idiotic as to freeze brain cells by the thousands — and especially to the ill-advised executives at Little Caesar’s: Get focus groups with functional IQs, or take your ads off the airways!!! Get a CLUE! PLEASE! OOOOOH! That Tells You!
