In Walked the Giant

In July of 2012 I lost another dear friend. His name was Frank Jones. I knew him for many years, and he was a very special human being. This verse was written in his memory, and was read at his funeral.

“In Walked the Giant”

In walked the Giant, with arms mighty wrought;
With hands to lift mountains and smiles dearly sought.
His laughter came easily, eyes bright with mirth,
And he was our friend while he wandered the earth.

His kindness was legend; his wit a surprise;
Both childlike and wicked the light in his eyes.
So gentle in nature, in friendship so sure,
And he’ll be our friend while the mountains endure.

His strength it was matchless; his heart held no guile;
Like a coin newly minted so bright was his smile.
So strong and so innocent, worthy of tales,
And he’ll be our friend til all memory fails.

The Giant he bore witness to deeds of great fame,
And legends were made and attached to his name.
And we will remember, his might and his worth,
For he was our friend while he wandered the earth.

    I love this Peggy. I will always remember Frank going with us when we eloped. If he hadn’t pretended to be my Dad we couldn’t have applied for our marriage license. How I adored that man!
