Nanowrimo 2012
2November 7, 2012 by phicks2012
The month of November is notable for Nanowrimo, National Novel Writing Month, when hopeful authors sign up to write a novel of 50,000 words by November 30th. If they can average 1667 words a day, these would-be novelists can finish what is usually an unedited first draft by month’s end, and while it’s unlikely to be Pulitzer-worthy they tell me it’s well worth the effort to take part.
So, this year I’ve signed on, and so far I am well ahead of the 1667 word a day goal. This probably means — as if my friends didn’t already grasp this startling fact — that I’m wordy, so the challenge for me is probably NOT going to be getting to 50,000 words. It’s going to be telling my entire story in ONLY 50,000 words!
I’ve also accepted a challenge from a fellow BLOGGER, and friend at http://kingstaste.com/WordPress, to mirror my Nanowrimo efforts by posting a BLOG every day during November as well, meaning that my readers will be subjected to my ramblings for thirty consequtive days rather than only once or twice a week. She expects to be doing the same, so I invite you to keep up with both of our BLOGS, to keep us honest, and please consider using the FOLLOW button to assure that you’ll be warned of each new BLOG post.
I look forward to further sharing the adventures of Castle life with you all, and to hearing your comments and suggestions — please be polite 😉 — so please don’t hesitate to chime in, and if you’re doing Nanowrimo yourself please let me know how you’re doing with that as well!!!
Write On!
What do you write about?
