Years ago I used to have a Hobby Shop/Comic Book Store, and when it closed back in the early 1990s the remaining comics — all of them in mint condition and in plastic bags — were left stored in boxes where they remained stored as the years slowly passed. Now all of them are over 20 years old, and still in mint condition, though a few of the titles have been unheardof for decades.
So what’s a Lady to do with over 10,000 vintage comic books, I ask you?
I’ve donated some to libraries and charities to get a bit of a tax write-off, but I still have boxes and boxes — and boxes of the things, and while I could continue donating them until I eventually run out I would prefer to sell them if remotely possible. Hint: I refuse either to give them away or to use them for fire-starters so there needs to be cash involved in the arrangement somewhere.
I’ve tried posting some of them on EBAY.com, but so many people have comics listed there that I wound up paying to post things that never sold. I’ve tried approaching Comic Stores, but they’re generally only willing to offer pennies on the dollar. I’ve tried positive thinking, meditation, and attempting to channel Donald Trump too, but so far none of these methods has bourne fruit.
So, can anyone steer me to an on-line site where I might be able to find eager buyers for vintage comics? Everyone CAN jump at once!
